Student Council

The Student Council meets at least termly and is the forum where elected representatives (Course Board Reps) gather to discuss holistic student experiences issues, including organisation, catering, the work of the Students’ Union and resources and support.

The responsibilities of Student Council members are:

  • To represent the voice of Students on all matters, including the holistic student experience of RWCMD

  • To make recommendations regarding the Policy of the Union

  • To make, repeal and amend the By-Laws jointly with the Trustees

  • To receive a report from the Officer Trustee

  • To recommend to the Trustees the award of Student Officer Honorariums

  • To receive the Union’s budget at the first meeting of the Academic Session

  • To receive termly financial reports on the management of the Union

  • To receive and approve applications for associate membership

The President of the Students’ Union can also convene an extraordinary meeting at the request of a simple majority of the Executive Committee a simple majority of the Student Council if an issue arises which it is deemed requires more immediate comment.
